BALTIMORE — The Coast Guard, along with state and local agencies, are searching for a missing boater Saturday in the Wicomico River near Salisbury.
The missing boater is described as a white male with long hair, approximately 6’1″ and 200 pounds.
A good Samaritan notified Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders Saturday at approximately 1 a.m. reporting a man went overboard after his boat was involved in an accident. The boat reportedly struck the steel cylinders of a dredge pontoon when the missing boater was ejected.
A boat crew from Coast Guard Station St. Crisfield launched to search for the boater along with personnel from Wicomico County Fire, Salisbury Fire, Maryland State Police and Maryland Natural Resources Police. A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, New Jersey, is also searching.
