Coast Guard, partner agencies locate man off Honeymoon Island, Fla.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Coast Guard and partner agency crews located a missing man they were searching for south end of Three-Rooker Bar near Honeymoon Island, Florida Tuesday.

Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg watchstanders were contacted by a good Samaritan in the area via VHF-FM channel 16 reporting the man jumped in the water and did not resurface.

The man was found by a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commision crew and transported by a Clearwater Fire and Rescue crew to emergency medical personnel and will be transferred to Florida Hospital North Pinellas.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, Florida, a 24-foot Special Purpose Craft Boat — Shallow Water crew from Coast Guard Station Sand Key, Florida, Florida Fish and Wild Life Conservation Commission crews and local agencies are were searching for the man.

The man’s condition is unknown.
