Coast Guard on the lookout for overdue boater near the Bahamas

MIAMI – Coast Guard crews are trying to determine the whereabouts of an overdue boater, Friday, who reportedly did not arrive in Marathon Fla,. as scheduled.

Glen David Brandt, a 48 year-old male, from Bradenton, Fla., departed from the Nassau Harbor Club Marina May 9, 2010 in a 46-foot white hull, blue canvas top pleasure craft named Genesis and was due to arrive in Marathon Fla,. to refuel May 15.

Family members contacted watchstanders at the Seventh Coast Guard District Command Center in Miami at approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday to report that Brandt had yet to arrive in Marathon.

The Coast Guard responded immediately by issuing an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and requested the assistance of local Bahamian officials and nearby mariners to keep a sharp lookout for Brandt.
