Coast Guard offloads seized cocaine

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Gallatin interdicted the fishing vessel, Manatee, suspected of smuggling cocaine in the Caribbean Sea, April 18, 2013. Crewmembers aboard the Gallatin seized a ton of cocaine and detained the three suspected smugglers.

The cocaine was transferred to the Coast Guard Cutter Bernard C. Webber and was offloaded at Coast Guard Base Miami Beach on Friday April 26. The cocaine was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration while the smugglers were delivered to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
