PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard and the Navy removed two buoys from the Chic’s Beach and Oceanview areas of Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Tuesday.

The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Frank Drew worked with Navy sailors from Amphibious Construction Battalion 2, Beachmaster Unit 2, and Naval Beach Group 2 out of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek to remove two washed-ashore buoys from Chic’s Beach and Oceanview areas of Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Va.

The buoys washed ashore during recent storms that passed through the Hampton Roads.

The Navy assets towed the buoys off the beach and into the Chesapeake Bay, where the crew aboard Cutter Frank Drew hoisted them aboard for their return to Base Portsmouth.
