Coast Guard, Nassau County Sheriff’s Office searching for 2 overdue boaters in Nassau County, Fla.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Coast Guard and Nassau County Sheriff’s Office are searching for two overdue boaters in Nassau County, Fla., Monday.

Missing are Steve Strout, 63, and Alex Harner, 13.

Operational watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville were notified Sunday at approximately 7:45 p.m. that both boaters had not returned from fishing at a pre-scheduled time.

The boaters departed from the Edwards Road Boat Ramp in Yulee, Fla., near Plummer Creek aboard a white 18 to 21-foot Ranger bass boat.

A HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah, Ga., was searching but is currently grounded due to heavy fog. A Nassau County Sheriff’s Office marine unit is also searching.
