Coast Guard Motor Life Boat crew medevacs man from fishing vessel off Coos Bay, Ore.

Pacific Northwest Coast Guard NewsSEATTLE – The Coast Guard medically evacuated a fisherman who had suffered from possible internal injuries approximately 40 nautical miles west of Coos Bay, Ore., Sunday.

The 285-foot commercial fishing and processing vessel American Triumph, contacted the Coast Guard at approximately 3:30 p.m. to request a medevac of a 37-year-old male crewmember.

Coast Guard Sector North Bend, Ore., dispatched a 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Coos Bay. An EMT from a Bay City ambulance accompanied the crew to assist.

The boat crew met the American Triumph and transferred the man to awaiting emergency medical services at the station.

He was taken by ambulance in stable condition to Bay Area Hospital, where he was treated and released.
