CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Coast Guard personnel continue to monitor the jack-up rig Dolphin III that is aground approximately one mile offshore and six miles south of the Port Aransas, Texas jetties.
Workers are preparing for an underwater inspection of the rig. Divers will ensure the rig is not in need of any repairs prior to re-floating it. The divers are expected to complete their inspection this evening or tomorrow morning.
It was previously reported that the generators provided power for de-watering pumps. The generators that did not have fuel were for the ballast pumps that provide leveling capabilities. The rig crew had attempted to level the platform but were not successful.
The Dolphin III is owned by Nabors International out of Houston, Texas.
