Coast Guard medically transports 7-year-old girl near North Bend, Ore.

ASTORIA, Ore. — The Coast Guard assisted a local sheriff’s department with the medical transport a 7-year-old girl north of North Bend, Ore., Friday.

Coast Guard Air Station North Bend, Ore., received a call, at approximately 4 p.m., from the Coos County, Ore., Sheriff’s Dept., stating a log rolled on top of a girl at Horsfall Beach.

Air Station North Bend launched an HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew at approximately 4:05 p.m.

The Dolphin crew landed on the beach at approximately 4:24 p.m., where Coos County emergency crews freed the girl and prepared her for medical transport to a local hospital. She was taken to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Ore. Her condition is unknown.
