Coast Guard medically evacuates man new Anclote River, Florida

ANCLOTE RIVER, Fla. — A 30-year-old man was rescued by Coast Guard crewmembers from a 26-foot fishing vessel approximately 20 miles northwest of here, Friday.

Rescued was Jasper Troop.

A crewmember aboard the fishing vessel Mary D contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg via Rescue 21 VHF-FM channel 16 at 9:24 a.m., reporting Troop was experiencing severe stomach cramping and tingling in his extremities.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater arrived on scene, hoisted Troop aboard the Jayhawk and will transport him to Tampa General Hospital in Tampa.
