Boston – A Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft crew medically evacuated a 74-year-old male from Martha’s Vineyard Hospital in Oak Bluffs, Mass. to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Mass., today.
Watchstanders at the Coast Guard First District command center in Boston received a request at 7:16 a.m., from Martha’s Vineyard Hospital to transport a patient that was suffering from a complete heart block to Cape Cod Hospital.
An Air Station Cape Cod, Mass. HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft crew immediately launched and safely transported the patient to Hyannis airport to awaiting EMS. He was then taken by ambulance to Cape Cod Hospital.
