Coast Guard medically evacuates injured logger

SEATTLE – The Coast Guard medically evacuated an injured male logger near Forks, Wash., today.

Coast Guard Station Quillayute River, Wash., received a call, at approximately 8:30 a.m., from a local Forks medical facility requesting helicopter support for a man who was injured in a logging accident.

Station Quillayute River contacted Coast Guard Air Station Port Angles, Wash., for air support.

Air Station Port Angeles launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew to assist. The man was taken to Air Station Port Angeles where emergency medical personnel from Airlift Northwest were waiting to transport him to Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle.
