SEATTLE – The Coast Guard medically evacuated a boater from a sailing vessel north of Friday Harbor, Wash., Saturday.
Coast Guard Sector Port Angeles, Wash., received a call from the San Juan County Sheriffs Office at 3:30 p.m. reporting that a 56-year old man had suffered a stroke while aboard a 38-foot sailing vessel.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station Port Angeles was sent to assist.
The helicopter crew arrived on scene at 4:30 p.m. and hoisted the man.
The boater was then transferred to Harbor View Medical Center.
The condition of the boater is unknown.
