MIAMI — Crewmembers from Coast Guard Air Station Miami medically evacuated a 48-year-old male in the vicinity of Marco Island, Fla., Monday.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West, Fla., received a report from a male on the vessel Sweet Emotion experiencing pressure in his chest and was requesting Coast Guard assistance.
After consulting with a flight surgeon, the boater was recommended for medical evacuation and a helicopter crew was launched.
Once Coast Guard personnel arrived on scene, the crewmembers transported the boater to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
