Coast Guard medically evacuates 30-year-old male from Ralston Creek, S.C.

7th Coast Guard District NewsCHARLESTON, S. C. – The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 30-year-old male from the Ralston Creek, Saturday.

Rescued was: Matthew Blaxlog from Mount Pleasant, S.C.

Operational watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Charleston received a call at 6:11 p.m., Saturday, requesting medical assistance for Blaxlog who was experiencing a back injury after jumping off of a tree into the creek.

Coast Guard Station Charleston deployed a 25-foot rescue boat crew. The crew arrived on scene at 6:50 p.m., safely hoisted the passenger onboard, and transported him to the Rhodes Island Boat Launch.

Emergency Medical Services transported Blaxlog to Medical University of South Carolina.
