ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 75-year-old woman Saturday in Tampa Bay.

Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg command center watchstanders received a call at 5:36 p.m. from medical personnel aboard the cruise ship Carnival Miracle stating a passenger was suffering from stroke like symptoms.

A Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew launched to assist and arrived at 7:28 p.m.

The boatcrew assisted the woman aboard and transported her to Fort De Soto Fishing Pier where a Pinellas Fire and Rescue crew was awaiting.
