NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a 71-year-old woman from the cruise ship Norwegian Dawn approximately 30 nautical miles north of Venice, Louisiana, Sunday.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday of a passenger suffering a shoulder injury.
Watchstanders directed the launch of a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Venice.
The crew arrived on scene at 8:25 p.m. and transported the patient and the patient’s husband to Station Venice where they were met by local emergency medical services.
