Coast Guard medevacs woman from cruise ship near Atlantic City, NJ

5th Coast Guard District NewsATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 70-year-old woman from a 965-foot cruise ship 50 miles off the coast here, Friday.

Coast Guard watchstanders at Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia received a call at 7:52 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the cruise ship Norwegian Jewel reporting the woman was having kidney failure.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and hoisted the woman into the helicopter and transported her to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for treatment.
