ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 75-year-old woman from a cruise ship approximately 84 miles east of Cape May Wednesday.
Personnel aboard the 937-foot cruise ship Eurodam contacted Coast Guard watchstanders at approximately noon Wednesday, reporting a woman aboard was experiencing chest pains.
Watchstanders dispatched crews aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City and an HC-130 Hercules aircraft from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., to assist.
The Dolphin helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday, hoisted the woman and a nurse into the helicopter and took them back to the air station where the patient was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel.
