NEW ORLEANS —The Coast Guard medevaced a 50-year-old woman from a cruise ship at approximately 2:30 a.m., approximately 30 miles south of the Southwest Pass on Sunday.
The Coast Guard received a call from the Carnival cruise ship Fantasy at approximately 1:05 a.m. Sunday, reporting that a passenger was having internal bleeding and requested a medevac.
Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched an MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew and successfully lifted the passenger into the helicopter and then transporter her to West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, La.
Her condition is unknown.
