Coast Guard medevacs woman from Carnival cruise ship Splendor off Toms River, NJ

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 66-year-old woman from a cruise ship Thursday approximately 20 miles east of Toms River.

Personnel aboard the 952-foot Carnival cruise ship Splendor contacted Coast Guard watchstanders in New York at approximately 12:40 a.m. and reported a woman aboard was experiencing heart failure.

Coast Guard watchstanders dispatched a rescue crew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City.

The helicopter crew hoisted the woman and a nurse and took them to Jersey Shore Medical Center where the woman was reported to be in stable condition.
