MOBILE, Ala. — A Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew medevaced a Vietnamese fisherman 56 miles south of Pascagoula, Miss., Tuesday morning.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a VHF-FM radio call from the fishing vessel Mississippi crew reporting a crewman suffered a laceration to the head.
The helicopter crew was directed to launch and arrived on scene at approximately 2:30 a.m., to hoist the patient. The aircrew flew to Trent Lott International Airport and safely transferred the patient to awaiting emergency medical services.
The injured fisherman was taken to Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula in stable condition.
