CHARLESTON, S.C. — Coast Guard crews medevaced a 50-year-old male crewmember Sunday 19 miles east of Charleston.

A crewmember of the cargo vessel Pacific Pearl was experiencing signs of high blood pressure.

Coast Guard Sector Charleston watchstanders were notified of the crewmembers condition at 6 p.m. and launched a Coast Guard Station Charleston 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew. The crew arrived on scene at 8:53 p.m. and transferred the man to Station Charleston where EMS was waiting.

The man was reported to be in stable condition.
