HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a tugboat crewmember near Galveston, Texas, Saturday evening.

At 7:46 p.m., Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report that a 52-year-old crewmember aboard the tugboat Cape Hatteras was exhibiting symptoms of extreme dehydration. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.

A Coast Guard Station Galveston 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew arrived on scene and transferred the crewmember to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Station Galveston.

The mariner was reported to be in stable condition.
