Coast Guard medevacs Skagway woman to Juneau

JUNEAU, Alaska – A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevaced Elizabeth Rankain, a 40-year-old Skagway resident, reportedly suffering from seizures and a possible brain injury from Skagway at 6:15 p.m. March 13, 2011.

Watchstanders at the 17th Coast Guard District command center in Juneau received a call at 2:20 p.m. from the medical clinic requesting transfer of Rankain for further medical care.

Rankain was in need of further medical care after being treated at the Skagway medical clinic.
