JUNEAU, Alaska – The Coast Guard airlifted a 57-year-old man 70 miles north of Adak today.
The North Pacific Search and Rescue Coordination Center (NPSARCC) received a call from the Dutch Harbor harbormaster at 11 p.m. Tuesday, who reported that the motor vessel Maritime Hareshio had an ill crewmember on board.
A Coast Guard rescue helicopter and crew from the Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley hoisted the ill man at 9:19 a.m. and transported him to Adak, where a Coast Guard C-130 airplane transported him to Kodiak for medical care.
The patient’s condition is unknown at this time.
