BARNEGAT LIGHT, N.J. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 53-year-old male Thursday from a 34-foot sailing boat 30 miles off the coast of Barnegat Light.
The Coast Guard received a call at approximately 8 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Simaron reporting the owner of the boat was slipping in and out of consciousness.
A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., arrived on scene and transported the man to the air station where he was transferred to awaiting emergency medical personnel.
The medical crew took him to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
