ALEXANDRIA BAY, N.Y. — A Petty Officer from the Coast Guard Cutter Hollyhock was medically evacuated because of abdominal pains at approximately 2:30 p.m. today.
Petty Officer 1st Class Jeremy Hann was escorted off the cutter by a Coast Guard Station Alexandria Bay crew in their 25-foot response boat. The Hollyhock is en route to Port Huron, Mich. and was transiting through the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System.
Station Alexandria Bay then took Hann to shore in Alexandria Bay to awaiting Emergency Medical Services and he was then taken to River Hospital there for further evaluation.
