CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced a mariner from a fishing vessel near Port Aransas, Texas, Saturday afternoon.
Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a radio transmission on Channel 16 from the fishing vessel Miro requesting the medevac of a crewmember in need of medical assistance. The watchstanders consulted the duty flight surgeon who recommended a medevac.
A Coast Guard Station Port Aransas 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew arrived on scene and transferred the crewmember to awaiting emergency medical personnel at Coast Guard Station Port Aransas.
The man was reported to be in stable condition.
