HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a 54-year-old man approximately 8 miles offshore of Cameron, Louisiana, Monday morning.
Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a request from the fishing vessel Sea Horse stating that a passenger was in need of medical assistance. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.
A Coast Guard Station Lake Charles Response Boat-Medium boat crew was launched to the scene and transported the mariner to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at the Calcasieu River ferry dock.
Weather on-scene was reported as 3-foot seas and 10 mph winds.
