HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a man off an oil platform Friday afternoon near Galveston, Texas.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a call from an employee on an oil platform reporting that a 33-year-old male had fallen while working on the platform and was experiencing severe back pain.

A Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was launched and transported the man to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Coast Guard Sector Field Office Galveston.

The man’s condition is unknown.
