Coast Guard medevacs man near Barnegat, N.J.

BARNEGAT LIGHT, N.J. – The Coast Guard medevaced a 42-year-old man aboard a fishing boat who had wounds to his forearm 40 miles east of Barnegat Light Wednesday.

The crew of the 88-foot Kayla Rose called the Coast Guard via VHF channel 16 at 8:50 p.m. reporting the man injured his forearm and was going in and out of consciousness.

A rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., arrived on scene and hoisted the man into their helicopter.

The rescue helicopter crew transferred him to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, N.J., to be treated for his injuries.
