Coast Guard medevacs man from tug boat

SEATTLE – The U.S. Coast Guard medically evacuated a male from the tug boat Swinomish at 6:19 p.m., Thursday.

The 57-year-old male was transferred to Emergency Medical Services in Port Townsend, Wash.

Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound received a call for assistance from the Swinomish at 5:15 p.m., stating they had a ill crewman that needed to be transported for medical purposes. Coast Guard Station Port Angeles, Wash., dispatched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew to transfer the ill passenger from the 68-foot tug boat to awaiting EMS at Point Hudson marina in Port Townsend.
