NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a man from a sailing vessel near Dauphin Island, Alabama, Friday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report at 12:28 p.m. of a crewmember experiencing heart attack symptoms aboard a sailing vessel approximately two nautical miles outside of Bon Secour Bay.

Watchstanders directed the launch of a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island.

The survivor was transferred to the Station Dauphin Island boatcrew and was transported to waiting emergency medical services.
