CAPE MAY, N.J. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 55-year-old man from an 898-foot oil tanker that was anchored near Big Stone Beach Anchorage, near Milford, Del., in the Delaware River, Wednesday.
Personnel aboard the tanker Suez Rajan contacted Coast Guard watchstanders at approximately 3:30 p.m., via VHF-FM channel 16, reporting a crewman aboard lost consciousness and needed medical attention.
A 45-foot Response Boat – Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May responded to the reported distress. Once on scene, the RB-M crew medevaced the man whose care was transferred to emergency medical services personnel ashore at Coast Guard Station Cape May.
