NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a 24-year-old man from an oil rig 42-miles southwest of New Orleans in the Gulf of Mexico Friday.
Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched a HH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew after receiving areport that a man was in need of medevac after sustaining injuries from approximately a 25-foot fall.
The Coast Guard Dolphin arrived on scene and safely hoisted and transported the man to West Jefferson Medical Center for treatment.
His condition is unknown.
