Coast Guard medevacs man from oil rig

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A Coast Guard helicopter crew medevaced a 52-year-old man from an oil rig 26-miles east of Port O’Connor, Texas early this afternoon.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi received a call at 12:33 p.m. from an employee on Hercules 152 oil rig reporting a worker was suffering from a heart attack.

A HH-65C Dolphin helicopter was launched; the rescue helicopter safely hoisted and transported the man and a paramedic to Citizen’s Memorial Hospital in Victoria, Texas.

The man was last reported to be in stable condition.
