ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 39-year-old man Wednesday from a cruise ship approximately 8 miles south of Port Tampa Bay.
Medevaced was Rushan Pain, 39.
Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg Command Center watchstanders received a cell phone call at 4:39 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Majesty of the Sea reporting a passenger was suffering from chest pains and was in need of advanced medical attention.
The watchstanders launched a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium (RBM) boatcrew from Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg.
The boatcrew arrived on scene at approximately 5:22 p.m. and transferred Rushan to the RBM. The rescue crew transported the man to Station St. Petersburg where awaiting emergency medical services transported him to Bayfront Medical Center for further care.
