JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard medevacked a man Sunday 5 miles east of Ormond Beach.
A 45-foot Response Boat – Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Ponce de Leon medevacked a 54-year-old man who was a crewmember aboard the 80-foot fishing vessel Alena.
Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Command Center watch standers were notified at 7:56 a.m. a man was experiencing stroke symptoms. The man was transferred to the RB-M at 8:40 a.m. and transported to Volusia County EMS at Station Ponce de Leon at 9:57 a.m.
The man was taken to Bertfish Medical Center.
