SAN DIEGO – The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 62-year-old man 30 miles southwest of Point Loma Monday morning.
The Joint Harbor Operations Center, located in San Diego, was notified just after 9:00 a.m., that the fishing boat Ranger 85 had a person on board experiencing chest pains. A Coast Guard duty flight surgeon recommended the man be taken off of the boat for immediate medical attention.
Coast Guard Sector San Diego launched a MH-60T Jayhawk helicopter that arrived on scene at 9:24 a.m. The air crew hoisted the man from Ranger 85 to the helicopter and transported him to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, Calif., at 10:27 a.m.
