Coast Guard medevacs man from fishing boat near Atlantic City, NJ

Coast Guard District 5 NewsATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 25-year-old male from an 86-foot scallop boat 47 miles southeast of here Tuesday.

Medevaced was Robert Emerald.

A crewmember from the Ilha Brava contacted the Coast Guard at 2:47 p.m. via VHF-FM channel 16 radio reporting Emerald was complaining of sharp side pains.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City arrived on scene and hoisted Emerald into the helicopter and transported him back to the air station where he was transferred to emergency medical personnel.

Emerald was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus in Pomona, N.J.
