Coast Guard medevacs man from cruise ship Carnival Triumph

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard medevaced a 40-year-old man from a cruise ship in Southwest Pass, Louisiana, Friday.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a request from the cruise ship Carnival Triumph at 12:30 p.m. Friday for a medevac of a man experiencing a gastrointestinal condition.

Coast Guard watchstanders directed the launch of a 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Coast Guard Station Venice, Louisiana, to assist the man.

The crew arrived on scene at 10:27 p.m. and transported the man to emergency medical services at Station Venice.
