ST. PETERSBURG Fla. — A 63-year-old man was medevaced by the Coast Guard 12 miles west of Tampa, Saturday.
The captain of the cruise ship Carnival Paradise contacted Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg watchstanders at 8:04 p.m., reporting the man was experiencing heart attack symptoms and required medical assistance.
A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Cortez medevaced the patient and transported him, his wife and a Carnival Paradise nurse to Fort DeSoto and transfered them to awaiting medical personnel.
