SAN PEDRO, Calif. — The Coast Guard medevaced a 65-year-old man from the cruise ship Carnival Imagination approximately 6 miles south of Long Beach Harbor, Thursday evening.
Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach watchstanders were notified by the crew of the Carnival Imagination at 10 p.m. that a passenger was experiencing symptoms of a stroke.
Watchstanders immediately launched a MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Forward Operating Base Point Mugu to conduct an emergency medical evacuation.
The helicopter crew hoisted the passenger and transported him to Torrance Hospital where emergency medical services were awaiting.
