Coast Guard Medevacs Man from Canadian Freighter

├é┬áTRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — The Coast Guard medically evacuated a 56-year-old male from a ship near Alpena, Mich. at approximately 7:11 p.m. Sunday.

A Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City crew launched its HH65 dolphin helicopter to recover the man from the Canadian freighter, Montrealais, after a crewmember of the 720-foot ship was suffering from abdominal pains and nausea.

The man was recovered by the helicopter crew and transferred to local awaiting Emergency Medical Services and taken to Alpena General Hospital.

He is listed in stable condition.
