Coast Guard medevacs man 100-miles off Cameron, Texas

HOUSTON – The Coast Guard medevaced a 62-year-old man approximately 100-miles east of Cameron, Texas, early this morning.

A watchstander from Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston received a call at 8:55 a.m. from the crew of the 137-foot charter boat, The Big E. The crewmember reported a person onboard had suffered a possible heartattack and was in need of medical attention.

An Air Station Corpus Christi Falcon jet crew and an Air Station Houston rescue helicopter crew were both launched to assist. The rescue helicopter crew safely hoisted the man and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

The man was reported to be in stable condition.
