Coast Guard medevacs injured yacht passenger

FORT MACON, N.C. – Coast Guard Station Ft. Macon rescue crewmembers medevaced an injured man from a yacht that ran aground in the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway near Beaufort, N.C., Friday.

Coast Guard Sector North Carolina watchstanders were contacted by Seatow in Beaufort to report that a 60-foot Hatteras Yacht had run aground and a man onboard was experiencing neck and back pain.

Station Fort Macon launched a 24-foot rescue boat crew to transport him to EMS at the Morehead City Wildlife Ramp.

Seatow refloated the yacht and reported that none of the other passengers onboard had been injured.
