Coast Guard medevacs injured woman near Sekiu, Wash.

65 DetroitSEATTLE — A Coast Guard aircrew medevaced a 57-year-old woman who reportedly fell and broke her leg near a beach in Sekiu, east of Neah Bay, Sunday.

The MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles hoisted the woman around 1 p.m. and transported her to emergency medical services personnel waiting at Sekiu Airport.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound received a request for helicopter assistance from Clallam County Fire responders around 10:30 a.m. due to the complexity of the woman’s reported injury.
