CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced an 18-year-old injured mariner off a 24-foot recreational vessel near Rockport, late Friday evening.
Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a request for a medevac from the Port Aransas Police Department after a 911 call from a mariner reporting a person aboard the vessel had suffered a broken arm.
The vessel was no longer able to make way and was safely at anchor.
A Coast Guard Station Port Aransas Response Boat-Small crew was launched and transferred the three people aboard to Cove Harbor Marina and Drystack in Rockport. The injured mariner was transferred to awaiting emergency services personnel in stable condition.
Weather on scene was reported as 2-foot seas with 17-mph winds.
