Coast Guard medevacs injured man

HOUSTON – The Coast Guard medevaced a 23-year-old man from Galveston Bay Texas, this afternoon.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Houston/Galveston received a mayday from the sail boat Forget Me Not at 1:41 p.m., reporting that one of the men on board been struck in the head by the mast and needed medical attention.

Coast Guard Air Station Houston launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter to medevac the man. The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the injured man and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
